כיתות ו-ט
Grade 6–9 (vav – tet)
English Time's teachers are experienced, skilled and knowledgeable. We care about
providing your child with the best educational foundation, aiming to strengthen their
English skills and give them a lifelong affinity for learning. We want the best for your
child, and customize our courses according to their needs, abilities and strengths.
Every child is interviewed and assessed prior to or during their first lessons, either
overtly or covertly, by asking questions to discover their current level of knowledge,
likes and dislikes, and reasons for learning English. They are then placed in the class
fitting their needs and ability.
At this age, your child will have some background in English, from school, television,
the internet, music, shop signs and their general environment. They probably will
have learned basic letters and conversational skills, and some reading, vocabulary and
grammar. English Time will strengthen and enhance these abilities.
If your child is encountering problems with English in the school environment, we
will endeavor to discover the solution. If your child is doing well at school, we aim
to advance their knowledge.
Our students are constantly exposed to oral English and encouraged to use it as the
communication tool throughout the lessons. Strengthening and enhancement are the
key elements, so the work differs from that which they experience at school.
English Time builds its lesson plans around activities that children enjoy - sometimes
leading to unconventional teaching platforms.
Children between the ages of 11-16 may already be disillusioned with school or feel
that they are not progressing or set in their learning styles. Along with improving their
English abilities, English Time aims to motivate these children to enjoy school, and
teaches improved study methods and learning skills that will also help them in other
subjects.
Grammar is taught on an 'as-needed' basis. When the teacher identifies a specific
grammar problem during lessons, it will be resolved in a quite different way than the
traditional school method.
Depending on the class dynamics, either worksheets will be provided or a book will
be recommended.
Singly or in groups, all students will be entitled to tigbur (enhancement drop-in
classes) that specifically focus on school homework or study for tests, etc. Attendance
of these classes is not mandatory, and students may attend as they choose.
